Jude
Sweet Jude was found wandering along a back road in Shepard, TX. A wonderful woman with a heart of gold spent 3 hours trying to get Jude into a crate for transport to someone that could help him. She contacted us and we were on the road immediately. After seeing the extent of his wounds and knowing that our vet was closed, we rushed him to Texas A&M animal hospital where the vet on duty suggested euthanizing him. We picked him up the next day and brought him to our rehab location. The following day, we took him to our vet and got the proper medicines for the infected abcesses covering his body. The ear that remained was triple the size that it should have been, his left eye was so swollen that we weren't sure if there was even an eye in there. The following week, we took Jude back to our vet to be lightly sedated for a deep cleaning of his wounds and a thorough evaluation of his condition. We were told that the swollen eye was actually in great shape, but that were not sure about his hearing returning.
After several weeks of intensive care, this boy became the most loving and gentle piggy that we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He wanted to be loved on all of the time, give snout kisses and just be near us. Jude has full hearing, full vision in his left eye and limited vision in his right. This boy is great now!!
Jude was neutered after all of the infection had gone from his body and there was no potential for anything bad to happen. He will remain with us for the rest of his long life to come, being spoiled and loved just as every piggy should be. |
